Tolerance - stamp

This may piss people off. But I'm tired of the hypocrites who shout the word "TOLERANCE" but either don't know what it means, or they just expect tolerance for only themselves and not others.

Whether we like to admit it or not, tolerance works both ways. If you demand someone to accept you as who you are, but not accept them for who they are, that is NOT tolerance. That is superiority/BULLYING.

Random examples:

The world of Islam wants Christians to tolerate them; the world of Christianity needs to be tolerated by Islam
ie: It's very hard to get another religion to tolerate you, when fundamentalists are shouting to kill that religious group (this goes for both Christian fundamentalists and Islamic fundamentalists)

Minority groups want to be tolerated by majority groups; then minority groups need to tolerate majority groups
ie: It is unacceptable for whites to say the 'n' word to blacks (agreed), but why is it still acceptable for blacks to say 'cracker' to whites? It's the same negative connotation. So if one is unacceptable, they should BOTH be unacceptable.

Political parties need to stop calling each other "Fascist/Nazis" or "Communist/Socialists". Both sides, stop it. You're just stirring the anger pot, and making yourself look dumb.

GLBT community, you have the right to be angry that they are taking away your rights, but what message does it give to constantly go "It's the churches' fault" or "I hate homophobes" or "Religion should be wiped off the face of the earth". Really, these comments are just your OWN hatred of someone who believes differently than you. And if I see one more person generalize that "Christians are evil" simply because they are GLBT and that's the 'cool' thing to say if you're GLBT, I'll get very sad and/or angry. Because I'm pretty sure I have a huge group of GLBT friends who I support, and believe they have the right to marry... but I'm a Christian. So BOTH sides: STOP SAYING YOU HATE EACH OTHER. BOTH SIDES! STOP NOW!



Doesn't matter if you're Christian or not, I think Jesus should have taught everyone one good lesson: To turn the other cheek. I rant and rave about many things, but I have never hated a person for who they are. Even those who say I should burn in hell for my political beliefs, I never hate them. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we stopped the hate, ON BOTH SIDES??

I do know what tolerance is. I just have the ability to see both sides. I play devil's advocate all the time. AND PERHAPS, if you stopped, and REALLY took the time to read what I'm saying, then you'll get THE BIG PICTURE.
I'm not picking on any group in particular. I'm just tired of seeing "I hate you <Group X>, because you hate me." The hate has to stop somewhere, so which group will be the bigger person?
